Diary UK Limited was formed in March 2004 by Steve Webb and Ray McGinty with the intention of creating an online diary service after they had failed to find any existing software which would do exactly what they wanted. They were looking for a diary service that could be accessed anywhere, which could keep all of their contacts in one place and would allow teams to view and even edit each other’s schedule
Frustrated by the complexity of software like Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook and the problem of access away from the company network, they wanted something which would give them the same functionality, or better, with a more intuitive interface and which would work from any internet connected computer anywhere in the world.
They searched long and hard, and tried many online services, but none they found were up to the mark. So they decided to build their own! The result is internetDiary.
This was cloud computing before the term was coined!
